Atlas Numismatics

Atlas Numismatics published their December list with 420 new coins, medals and tokens. Highlights are some high-quality gold coins with important provenances.

Heritage Auctions, US-Dallas

Heritage Auctions offered the second portion of the legendary Simpson Collection of rare and important US coins in their November sale. An 1807 Draped Bust quarter that appeared only the second time in auction in over 100 years was sold for $630,000.

Stack’s Bowers Galleries, USA-Newport Beach (California)

Stack’s Bowers Galleries offered in their past November Auctions some highly important collections of American Coins: the Larry Ness Collection of Indian Peace Medals, the second part of the E Pluribus Unum Collection, and the first part of the Larry H. Miller Collection.

Cayón Numismática

Cayón’s Spanish copper collection and the gold e-auction sold both very well. E-auction 68 had a sell-through rate of almost 100% and increments of almost 300%. Especially the Spanish coins hit high prices.

Morton & Eden, GB-London

Morton & Eden sold in their recent Auction many high quality and rare coins, medals, plaquettes, and banknotes. Highlights were a mint state five-guineas from 1701 and a rare 10 ducats of Albrecht von Wallenstein.

Künker, D-Osnabrück

With a record-breaking total result of more than 14 million euros, Künker’s Fall Auction Sales have almost doubled their estimate of 7.4 million euros. We present the five most expensive lots of the auction week as well as the surprise of the sale: a lot with an original estimate of only 500 euros.

Dr. Busso Peus Nachf., D-Frankfurt

The 427th auction of Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. was a big success and proves again that top quality is in demand as never before. Especially the Graeculus Collection and rare modern coins went high in price.

Stack’s Bowers Galleries

Stack’s Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction for the first time exceeds the $1 million threshold. The over 2,500 lots of the October sale had a sell-through rate of 93.2% and the total hammer price reached $1.22 million.

Roma Numismatics, GB-London

Roma Numismatics’ Auction XX resulted in the highest grossing sale ever to be held by the auction house. Undisputed highlight was the EID MAR in gold setting a new record price selling for 2.7 million pound.
