In their upcoming auctions 79 and 80, Heidelberger Münzhandlung will offer two extraordinary collections at once: a collection of talers minted between 1800 and 1872 as well as a collection of Nuremberg coins struck between the Middle Ages and 1807.

Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio, HK-Hong Kong

The Hong Kong October auction of Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio contained over 4,600 lots. Chinese patterns were the top performers. Leading the way was a “long-whisker” pattern dollar from China’s final emperor that sold for $456,000.

Künker, D-Osnabrück

Künker’s auction 342 on 2 and 3 November 2020 will be a literature-only auction. The research library of French coin dealer Alain Poinsignon will be on offer. It contains important numismatic reference works that were published between the 19th and 21st centuries and cover a broad spectrum of subjects from antiquity to present times.

Roma Numismatics, GB-London

Roma Numismatics’s Auction XX features 1,020 lots from important collections. The top highlight of the auction is the third known aureus of the EID-MAR-type issued by Caesar’s murderer Brutus. The only known specimen available on the market is estimated at £500,000.

Stephen Album Rare Coins, USA-Santa Rosa (CA)

The Stephen Album Rare Coins Auction 38 in September 2020 set a new record for the firm with a total hammer price of $2.10 million and a sell-through rate of 94.5% for the floor sessions. The rarities, especially from the sections China and World, exceeded all expectations.

On 6 November 2020 Frankfurter Münzhandlung Nachf. will be offering nearly 1250 lots with a total estimate of 1 million euros. One highlight will be the Giesen Collection of medieval issues amongst a wide range of German rarities.

Roma Numismatics E-Sale 76 features 1,576 lots. Highlights are unpublished and rare specimens: Roman Provincial coins, an Anglo-Saxon penny of Aethelred II, a sterling of Edward the Black Prince, and high grade Swiss Francs from the collection of Italo Vecchi.
