Künker, D-Berlin

On February 1, 2018 the 13th Berlin-auction of the Osnabrück auction house Künker took place. The 1,113 lots, which were estimated at 6 m. euros, attained an impressive overall result of 10 m. euros. Three special collections all doubled their estimate.

Cayón Numismática, E-Madrid

The “Extraordinary Auction” of Cayón Subastas in Madrid, Spain, January 31, 2018 saw especially strong results with a large group of Spanish gold 8 escudos. A gold 100 pesetas 1871 of Amadeo I sold for 137,000 euro.

Stephen Album Rare Coins, USA-Santa Rosa (CA)

Stephen Album Rare Coins held its Auction 30 on January 18-20, 2018. The Tibet and China section was especially strong with many of the prices far exceeding the estimates. Rounding out the auction was a strong World Coins section.

Classical Numismatic Group, USA-New York

CNG Triton XXI auction held on January 9-10, 2018, during 46th NYINC realized a total of almost $15 Million with 1570 lots of Ancient, Early Medieval, Islamic, World and British coinage. The top lot alone was sold for over 2.1 million.

Heritage, USA-Tampa/ New York

Heritage’s early January auctions total increase for the third consecutive year selling more than $71,928,037 million of U.S. Coins, U.S. and World Currency, and World & Ancient Coins during the first three weeks of 2018.

Heritage Auctions, HK-Hong Kong

Setting a house record, Heritage Auctions’ Dec. 6-8 event realized $5,484,035 for Chinese proof coins and 19th century dollars. A record 1,685 bidders participated in the $4.4 million World Coin auction held in conjunction with the Hong Kong International Numismatic Fair.

Hess Divo, CH-Zurich

CHF 40,000 for an aureus of Galba, CHF 140,000 for “Una and the Lion”, CHF 170,000 for a 1661 ducat from Transylvania, CHF 100,000 for a 10 ducat piece of Ferdinand III, and CHF 260,000 for a nugget from Western Australia. Consignors were positively satisfied with results like these!

Dr. Busso Peus Nachf.

Conducted by Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. on November 18-19, 2017, e-auction 420 featuring the second part of the Dr. Neussel Collection of Roman Coins was highly successful. A major reason for this was the fact that most of the 1800 coins had a very good provenance.

Leu Numismatik, CH-Zurich

On October 25, 2017, Leu Numismatik conducted Auction No. 1. The large number of active bidders led to numerous record results. Adding up to more than 1 million CHF, the total hammer price exceeded expectations.

Sincona AG, CH-Zurich

Held from October 23-26, 2017, the five Sincona auctions obtained the impressive total result of more than 9 million Swiss francs. A large number of top-sellers came from the departments of Russian coins and of World Coins in Gold and Silver.
