Heritage Auctions Europe recently sold a 10 dukat “Portugalöser”, struck by the city of Deventer in the year 1640 to compete with Portuguese coinage circulating in Brazil, for $179,000.

On May 19, 2017 Roland Auctions will offer the seventh of many specialized auctions containing collections from the estate of Dr. Alan York. One of them is a collection of World War II Numismatics comprising over 300 lots and many rare specimens of coins, tokens and exonumia.

Stephen Album’s Auction 28 will be hold from May 18-20, 2017. The sale will comprise 3021 lots of Ancient, Islamic, Chinese, General World, and Indian coins, as well as Numismatic Literature.

Historic 1866 Double Eagle is one of only ten known examples, survived an attempted theft, was donated to a Valparaiso church and now could bring $300,000 or more when offered by Heritage Auctions on April 27, 2017.
