Künker, D-Osnabrück

These are the main figures from the Künker Summer Auctions hold from June 27-29, 2017: More than 250 bidders came to Osnabrück; more than 1,600 participants placed a written bid. More than 4,000 in number with estimates amassing to 5.5 million euros, the lots yielded a hammer price of 7.3 million euros.

Leu Numismatik

More than 500 bidders actively participated in Leu Numismatik’s auction on June 26, 2017, placing over 6,000 bids in the many bidding battles. The total return was of 474,317 CHF on a pre-sale starting price of 250,450 CHF.

Heritage Auctions, HK-Hong Kong

Heritage Auctions’ Asian Coins Signature Auction will take place June 22-23 in Hong Kong. Leading the sale is a 1902 Chekiang Kuang-hsü Copper Specimen Dollar. It is one of just two known to exist and is in exceptional condition.

Stack’s Bowers Galleries

The Stack’s Bowers Galleries Official Auction of the June 2017 Whitman Coin and Collectibles Expo from June 21 to 23, 2017 was highlighted by the Blue Moon and Robert Warner Wolfe Collections. Over $5.3 million in U.S. coins were sold.

Archives International Auctions, USA-Fort Lee (NJ)

The June auction of Archives International Auctions, consisting of 1089 lots, will feature an extensive collection of Chinese banknote rarities including additional items from the Pogrebetsky Family Archives. The auction will be held in Fort Lee, N.J. on June 15, 2017.

Münzen und Medaillen GmbH, D-Weil am Rhein

Auction 45 to be held by Münzen & Medaillen GmbH in their home town of Weil am Rhein will be devoted exclusively to ancient coins. Many of these originate from the collection amassed by Markus Robert Weder (1953-2016) focusing on late Roman Imperial coins.

Heritage Auctions, USA-Long Beach (CA)

A diverse selection of rarities led the way June 8-11, 2017 as Heritage’s auction of rare U.S. coins, held in conjunction with the Long Beach Coin and Collectibles Expo, raised more than $10.7 million for consignors. The auction was 98 percent sold by lot and by value.

Numismatica Ars Classica, CH-Zurich

Numismatica Ars Classica offers around 2,060 lots with a combined total estimate of more than CHF 8,900,000. Auction 99 features 50 aurei of the George W. La Borde Collection.

Numismatik Lanz, D-Munich

Numismatik Lanz has been in business for 70 years and published recently auction catalogue 164 featuring coins and medals from antiquity, the Holy Roman Empire, the Vatican, and a collection of pilgrim badges which will be auctioned off on May 23, 2017. To mark the milestone birthday, Lanz organizes a competition.
