Symposium on Alexandria’s Roman Imperial Coinage

The Circolo Numismatico Ticinese (CNT) has announced that the international symposium dedicated to: “Alexandria’s roman imperial coinage (BC 30 – AD 298) – 100 years after Joseph Vogt’s seminal studies”, will take place in Lugano, Switzerland on 20th & 21st of September 2024.

The symposium will see the participation of the leading experts in this field and will also serve as the occasion to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the landmark text for the study of alexandrian coins: “Die alexandrinischen Münzen. Grundlegung einer alexandrinischen Kaisergeschichte”, published in Stuttgart in 1924, by Joseph Vogt (1895-1986), one of Germany’s foremost classical scholars.
