On December 12, 2022 Heritage offers for sale almost 500 gold pieces, coins and jewelry from the famous treasure chest hidden by Forrest Fenn in 2010. After being buried in the Rocky Mountains for a decade collectors can now see what it contained – and bid on it.

Heritage Auctions, USA-Dallas (TX) A Roman medallion, one of just two known examples, was the top-lot in Heritage’s World & Ancient Coins Auction. The 4th century medallion of emperor Maxentius came from the Paramount Collection and sold for $312,000.

A 1788 New Jersey Copper, MS63 Brown sold for $192,000 at Heritage Auctions’ sale of the “Estate of Mike Coltrane Collection”. The 86 lot event of US coins realized over $2.4 million.

At Heritage’s Long Beach Expo Auction an 1882 $100 gold certificate was sold for $750,000 leading the total result to $10,682,198.

Heritage Auctions will be the recipient of the American Numismatic Society‘s 2023 Trustees’ Award. The auction house will be honored at the 2023 ANS Gala.

Heritage realized for the first portion of the Bass Collection $20.5 million. A 1821 Half Eagle prompted 70 bids before rising to the top of the auction’s results. Proceeds will benefit Dallas-based nonprofits.
