Mr Jahng-Shick Bahn has been appointed the new CEO/President of Korea Minting, Security Printing and ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO). In this function he follows Mr Yong-Man Cho whose three-year term had expired.
Concurrently, Mr Bahn has become the new MDC Chair. The Mint Industry Communqué of February 2021 states that “Mr Bahn has significant public sector experience for more than 40 years, served as senior presidential secretary for job creation, dean of the Graduate School of Management of Technology at Sogang University and former vice minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Until recently, he was a professor of the Graduate School of Management of Technology at Sogang University.”
Sogang University quotes from Mr Bahn’s inaugural speech: “We will establish ourselves as a global-leading mint security company through the discovery of new business areas and technological innovation. … As a public company, we must fulfill our social responsibilities to drive the growth of our business partners and provide care for the socially disadvantaged. … We will strive to achieve a people-centric workplace.”
