How the World Money Fair 2022 Will Look Like

In 2022, the World Money Fair is expected to be a real-life event again. To make this possible the organizers have developed a hygiene concept and plan to apply the 2G regulation. Probably it will not be as crowded as in 2018. Photo: KW.

The World Money Fair is scheduled to take place from 28th to 30th January 2022 in Berlin. The organizers are working full steam ahead on the preparations. What is the current status of preparations?

Exclusive Dealer Hours

First there is an innovation: On Friday, from 7:00 to 8:00 am, the exhibitors are still among themselves to set up their merchandise and trade with one another. Traditionally, this is followed by the exclusive dealer period. For the first time, it is extended to four hours from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and access is reserved exclusively for the specialist trade. For half a day, dealers will have exclusive access to attractive merchandise without crowds being able to select and negotiate undisturbed. All exhibitors occupying a table or a booth present themselves and their offer in a highly professional manner to an interested audience.

In order to protect the exhibiting traders, trading between traders is only possible with a trader ticket, even after 12:00 pm. Therefore, even the courtesy of obtaining an exhibitor pass for a friendly dealer or a customer is expressly not permitted.

Only Vaccinated and Recovered Persons Will Be Admitted

Collectors and the general public can then enter the fair on Friday at 12:00 pm. There are no changes concerning the opening hours on Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 am-6:00 pm resp. 10:00 am-4:00 pm. To ensure that all trade fair participants feel safe, the 2G concept will be implemented: only vaccinated (with a vaccine approved in the EU) and recovered persons will be admitted to the fair. This means that there are no further official requirements, which makes things easier for all participants. This is the current status. Please check on the website of the World Money Fair if any modifications will occur.
