Issuing a Congressional Gold Medal, the United States Mint honors the “Monuments Men”. The group received the nation’s highest civilian honor in recognition of its heroic role in the preservation, protection, and restitution of cultural heritage during World War II.
Roman coin trove found in Swiss cherry orchard
A farmer discovered one of the biggest coin troves in Switzerland in Ueken near Frick by pure chance. Exceptionally well preserved, the more than 4,000 coins from Roman Times must have been withdrawn from circulation shortly after being struck and buried in the ground.
