A unique, early American regulated $15 gold coin marked by Boston goldsmith Joseph Edwards, Jr. drew intense bidding during Daniel Frank Sedwick’s Treasure Auction 23, held online May 15-16, 2018. Overall, the auction featured 2,001 lots and realized $1.65 million.

In May of 2018 Sincona held its 46th and 47th auction. A so-called “Stirnlocken-Vreneli” was sold at 130,000 CHF, a ten ducat piece of the city of Berne won the bid at 190,000 CHF and a mohur of the Indian freethinker Akbar found a new home at 140,000 CHF.

Künker, D-Osnabrück
More than 3,000 bidders with 400 present in Osnabrück: Künker’s spring auctions were a full success. The 6,700 lots rose from a total estimate of 7.3 M to 11 M euros. The gold coins of Mecklenburg and Lübeck were particularly sought-after, as well as the coins of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire.

On 7 February, 2018, R. & A. Poinsignon offered 192 lots from the Bongard Collection. This outstanding event presented arguably one of the most important collections of Celtic coins of the past decades with a world record for Celtic bronze according to the auctioneer.
Künker, D-Berlin
On February 1, 2018 the 13th Berlin-auction of the Osnabrück auction house Künker took place. The 1,113 lots, which were estimated at 6 m. euros, attained an impressive overall result of 10 m. euros. Three special collections all doubled their estimate.

The “Extraordinary Auction” of Cayón Subastas in Madrid, Spain, January 31, 2018 saw especially strong results with a large group of Spanish gold 8 escudos. A gold 100 pesetas 1871 of Amadeo I sold for 137,000 euro.
