The Stack’s Bowers Galleries April 2014 Hong Kong Showcase Auction drew the attention of astute numismatists from across the globe. Over $7m worth of rare coins, banknotes and other Asian numismatic items have found new homes.

Beginning on March 27, 2014, The Charles A. Wharton Collection will cross the auction block at the Stack’s Bowers Galleries Auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Baltimore Expo. The star of this event will be the 1936 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Carlos Saavedra Lamas.

CNG’s Electronic Auction 323 closing on March 26, 2014 offers 897 lots. There is a broad selection from the early Roman Empire and, among the world coins, aficionados will find a rare Offa penny from Anglo-Saxon England.

Celebrating their 50th years in business Harlan J. Berk, Ltd. bring their 189th Buy or Bid Sale ending on March 25, 2014. This sale is comprised of 349 ancient coins, 40 world coins, antiquities and antique maps.

CNG’s Electronic Auction 322 will be offering 824 lots. The sale features ancient Iberian coins from the Archer M. Huntington Collection, and unpublished drachms of Lysimachos and Marcus Aurelius. The auction will close on March 12, 2014.

Agora’s Numismatic Sale #6 is now live and closes on March 11, 2014 starting at 12:00 noon EST with lots closing every 30 seconds. Auction number six is the auction house’s largest yet with several outstanding specimens among which one of the earliest Islamic types of the Umayyads and a batch of Rosa test strikes.

On March 11, 2014 Künker will offer a collection of coins of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. In order to reach a wide circle of all those interested, they have produced a film on the topic showing and commenting some of the most interesting coins.
