Hans Erni (1909-2015)
Swiss artist and medallist Hans Erni died on 21 March 2015 aged 106. He bequeaths a rich artistic oeuvre comprising drafts of a banknote series never issued, a commemorative coin, medals, and stamps.
Numismatic sensitivities
In these days Belgium and France as well had to withdraw new commemorative coin designs in order to respect sensitivities of their neighbouring countries. Winners and losers do not judge the battles of the past in the same way – not even centuries later.
