The Royal Mint Appoints Jörg Sassmannshausen as Regional Director of Sales

The Royal Mint has appointed Jörg Sassmannshausen as a Regional Director of Sales. Jörg joins the Currency division and will help ensure The Royal Mint continues to offer leading products and services in coin and blank production, end of life metal reclamation and cash handling consultancy for central banks and Mints globally.

Jörg joins The Royal Mint from the Dutch Royal Mint where he was Director of Sales and brings over ten years’ experience in currency management. Prior to joining the coin industry, he worked at Diskey Entertainment and Bodycare – gaining a wide range of experience in sales, commercial partnerships, and relationship management.

The Currency division sits at the heart of The Royal Mint, as the most established business in its portfolio. Over the last year it made 3.4 billion coins and blanks for 25 countries around the world. It is renowned for making technically advanced bi-metallic currency, such as the £1 coin which is one of the most secure in the world.
