The International Council of Museums (ICOM) is the world organisation of museums and museum professionals. The International Committee for Money and Banking Museums (ICOMON) is ICOM’s forum for museums of numismatics and museums of financial and economic institutions or companies representing almost 200 member institutions.
During ICOMON’s annual meeting in Kyoto from 1-7 September 2019 new board members were elected. Dr. Ute Wartenberg (Executive Director of the American Numismatic Society) was elected new chairperson. The other new members are:
- Asma Ibrahim (Director, State Bank of Pakistan Museum, Archives, & Art Gallery)
- Despoina Evgenidou (Honorary Director of the Numismatic Museum, Athens, Greece)
- Oley Kawani (Curator, Coin Museum Preparatory Office, Japan)
- Damon Monzavi (Exhibition Manager Bank Melli Museum, Teheran, Iran).
