New Director at the Portuguese Mint

Paulo Alexandrino has been appointed new Director of the Casa da Moeda. The Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda (National Printing House and Mint) is the Portuguese mint and national press and is located in Lisbon.

Mr Alexandrino is the new director of the coin unit, i.e. the mint responsible for producing the country’s official circulation and commemorative coins.

Paulo Alexandrino holds a degree in Materials Engineering and joined the Portuguese Mint in 1999. He started as Quality Control Lab Manager, was Production Manager between 2003 and 2016 and had been Deputy Director since then. In March Paulo Alexandrino was appointed new Director of Casa da Moeda’s coin minting unit.
