60 years after the creation of the very first story around the small Gaul warrior Asterix and his friend Obelix and their dog Idefix, Monnaie de Paris has issued a series of collector coins in silver and gold, and various medals and mini-medals dedicated to these popular comic heros. One medal shows also the main character of the most recent Asterix adventure: “Asterix and the chieftain’s daughter”.
So, attention, here come the Gaul:
In 2019 Asterix featured also on a French 2-euro commemorative coin.
A whole series of Asterix collector coins was issued by Monnaie de Paris in 2015.
And back then Asterix also was chosen to embody the “Values of the French Republic” on a 10 euro silver coin.
