Celtic Hoard Stolen From Museum

[bsa_pro_ad_space id=4]

During the night of 21 to 22 January 2021, numismatic objects were stolen from the Musée-Parc archéologique in Douai in northern France. Among them is a large portion of a Celtic hoard from Sin-le-Noble, which is about to be published. Moreover, Gallic and Merovingian as well as Roman gold coins of late ancient times and burial objects from the Gallic tomb of Hordain were stolen. Here you can see some of the stolen objects.

You can find all stolen objects in this PDF.

The museum is concerned that the pieces might soon appear in the online trade and kindly asks everyone to pay attention. If you spot one of the pieces, please contact the museum immediately.

More information and contact details can be found on the museum’s website.

You can write an e-mail directly to the curator Guillaume Klaës.
