Two curators of the numismatic department of the National Museum in Prague present coins and medals of the Emperor Francis Stephen, Maria Theresa’s husband, kept in the museum. The book offers enlarged photographs of the objects, explanations and interpretations and discusses the emperor’s role as a numismatist.

The Royal Canadian Mint has issued the first of four collector coins of the new Prehistoric creature glow-in-the dark series. The coin features a modern phosphorescent technology making thus visible the creature’s skeleton after exposing the coin to light.

International Congress on electrum coins at Israel Museum, Jerusalem
The new coin exhibition “White Gold: Revealing the World’s Earliest Coins” will formally open on June 26, 2012 at the renewed exhibition space of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. On this occasion a two-day international congress will be held.
