A hoarder and gold coins worth 250,000 dollars
Does anybody know Richard Burgess? This man died last year, his property was looted and thieves sold allegedly gold coins worth $250,000. Police did not know about coins at Mr Burgess’s and is looking for where he got them from.

Cubans not troubling themselves over fake money
In Havana counterfeit banknotes are quite common and everybody accepts them although people tend to pass them on as soon as possible. Authorities are not yet acting against that phenomenon but it is punishable and hence may soon threaten many people.
Maple leaf on new Canadian banknotes irritate public
The new Canadian banknotes arose strong criticism. According to botanists instead of the national emblem, the sugar maple leaf, they show a Norwegian maple leaf. The Bank claims the leaf to be a stylised mix of various maples. However, this discussion would have been avoided if design had been subordinated to meaning.
Crane Co. to acquire MEI Conlux Holdings
Crane Co., a diversified manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products, has signed an agreement to purchase 100% of the equity interests in MEI, a leading provider of payment solutions for unattended transaction systems, from Bain Capital and Advantage Partners.
Sellers of 9/11 bogus coins to pay $750,000
In 2011 a company sold on its own initiative 9/11 coins calling them ‘exclusively authorized’ – without having been authorised at all. The Federal Trade Commission has now reached a $750,000 settlement with the company.
Senator insists on terminating $1 Presidential coins
A senator introduced a bill to stop the $1 Presidential Coin Programme. There is, however, no apparent reason. In 2011 the same senator fought against the waste of resources when an overproduction of Presidential coins for circulation created costs. Now, these coins are only collector items.
US State Virginia considering alternative currency instead of Dollar
In the US state Virgina a bill has been passed in the House of Delegates to study the possibilities of introducing an alternative currency. Similar bills are pending in other states, too. The monetary union of the United States seems to be endangered.
Canada’s penny to be phased out
On February 4, 2013 the Royal Canadian Mint has stopped shipping out pennies and the 35 billion pennies in circulation will be collected and melted down.
India to replace 10-rupee note with coin
India plans to shift to a 10-rupee coin phasing out the banknote due to economical reasons. However the banks are not willing to support this plan since they think people prefer carrying banknotes and would refuse the new coin.
