CCG to Open London Office in April 2018
The Certified Collectibles Group has announced to open a new office in London. From April on, the numismatic experts will have two branches in Europe, the other one being their Munich office.

The American Numismatic Society is now accepting applications for the 64th Annual Eric P. Newman Graduate Summer Seminar in Numismatics to be held in New York City from June 4 through July 27, 2018. Visiting scholar will be Mariangela Puglisi.

Several million circulation coins with colour application have been circulating in Australia since 2012. The Royal Canadian mint has now filed a suit: They claim to have a patent on the Royal Australian Mint’s method of applying the colour.

ANS gala dinner celebrates numismatic efforts in the U.S.
As always, the American Numismatic Society started off the year 2018 with its Annual Gala Dinner held at the Harvard Club in New York City. A special honor went to the members of the Rosen family who received the Trustees’ Award.
A Collection in Context – The Dr. Karl von Schäffer collection
In 1888, Karl von Schäffer left his collection to the University of Tübingen. A team of authors has reconstructed the origin of this collection in a book. Ursula Kampmann has taken a look at this first volume of the new “Tübinger Numismatische Studien”.
2018 Coin of the Year: The Winners
At the World Money Fair Berlin the COTY trophies for 2018 were awarded on 3 February 2018. From the 10 winners of the first round in different categories the international panel of judges chose the Coin of the Year: the 5 euro polymer coin from Germany. Find all winners here.
U.S. Mint names David Croft new director as David Motl announces retirement
The U.S. Mint is led by a new director as David Motl has retired from his duties effective January 31th. From February on, his seat is filled by Dave Croft who has been working with the Mint for a little over ten years.
