The only Victoria Cross awarded for the British campaign in Tibet sold for a UK auction record £408,000* in a sale by specialist auctioneers Morton & Eden in London on Wednesday July 2, 2014. It will go on permanent public display soon.

Hammer prices amounting to more than 9.3 million, markedly more than 50 % above the estimate of 6.15 million, individual prices ranging between 20 euros and 170,000 euros: Künker proved that virtually every collector can find its piece in the Künker auction sales.

On 2 July 2014, the Osnabrück auction house will conduct its 250th auction sale. But before and after that other auctions will take place, too. Among others four special collections will be auctioned off with coins from Germany and from all around the world.

The BCD library is arguably by far the largest privately owned library on Greek numismatics that ever existed. Auctiones GmbH will be auctioning some intriguing duplicates from that library in their eAuction 28. The actual electronic auction will start on 29 June at 7 p.m. sharp.

On June 26, 2014 Munich auction house Gorny & Mosch, specialized in coins and medals, is to auction off a collection comprising 250 cameos, gems and seals in its auction sale 223, which were not only mady in antiquity but also in the periods of Baroque and Classicism.

CNG’s Electronic Auction 329 offers 667 lots closing on June 25, 2014. The sale features electrum coins from the exquisite Berkeley Collection, Roman coins from the Fairfield Collection and coins from the vast Demetrios Armounta Collection.

Many coin and medal aficionados showed up at auction sale #223 of Gorny & Mosch’s. On 26 June 2014 the Munich-based auctionhouse auctioned off a marvelous collection of cut gemstones. The toplot was a two-sided cameo sold for 26,000 euros.

Two auction sales of ancient art will be conducted by Gorny & Mosch on 25 and 26 June 2014. The first auction offers an interesting sample of all genres whose highlight is certainly a contemporary portrait of Caesar.

Agora Auctions’ Numismatic Sale #12 begins to close Tuesday, June 24, 2014. This sale features several rarities like a very rare centenionalis of Constantius II with chi-rho reverse honoring the revolt of Poemenius.

The first of four auctions of financier and numismatic legend Eugene H. Gardner, is presented by Heritage Auctions in New York on June 23, 2014. The offerings in this sale are almost all federally issued coins, largely from the 18th and 19th centuries.
