Only now it became known that Swedish coin dealer Berndt Ahlström died last December 2019.

Berndt Ahlström founded a coin dealership under his name in the centre of Stockholm in 1954. The then just 18-year-old was encouraged to do this by this father, who was an important protagonist in the field of stamps back then. A few years later, he took his brother Bjarne into the business. The latter took over the Stockholm dealership while his brother Berndt made the leap into the international world of coins.

Berndt Ahlström became owner of the Galerie des Monnaies in Geneva. For many years he was a frequent guest at auctions and coin shows all over the world.

Berndt Ahlström died of cancer. According to his wishes, he was quietly buried on 30 January 2020.
