XVIII ICOMON Annual Meeting at Nicosia

September 1, 2011 – The XVIII ICOMON Annual Meeting of the International Committee of Money and Banking Museums (ICOMON) will be held in Nicosia, Cyprus. The Meeting is hosted by the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, from October 10 to 13, 2011. The theme is: Money Museums Communicating with the Public.

The presentations will offer the possibility to approach a wide spectrum of issues, mainly museological, related to exhibition methods, to various ways of approaching diverse audiences, to the size and kind of money museums, new technology, the exchange of ideas and problem solving.

Some of the presentations are: Effrosyni Nomikou (Institute of Archaeology, University College London), “A penny for your thoughts. Evaluation as a tool for effective communication with the public”; Mandakini Shrestha (Chief Archaeological Officer, Department of Archaeology, Government of Nepal), “Money Museum Communicating with the Public”; Jennifer Adam (Collections Manager, Bank of England), “The Bank of England Museum: collections and communication at the UK’s Central Bank”.
