Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) has announced that its online Verify PMG Certification tool, which enables free, quick and easy searches of PMG’s certification database, now features images of more than 3 million PMG-certified notes.
Verify PMG Certification lets a user enter a note’s PMG certification number and grade to confirm its description and grade in PMG’s database. Now, users can also view images of the note taken by PMG after encapsulation, if available.
This valuable tool helps collectors and dealers verify that a PMG holder is genuine and has not been tampered with. It is also useful for researching notes; in most cases, it displays PMG Population Report statistics for a note.
PMG is the world’s largest and most trusted third-party paper money grading service with more than 4.5 million notes certified since 2005. Every note is backed by the comprehensive PMG Guarantee of authenticity and grade, which gives buyers greater confidence. This results in higher prices realized and greater liquidity for PMG-certified notes.
The details of virtually all of the 4.5 million notes certified by PMG can be found in the Verify PMG Certification tool. The addition of images for more than 3 million of these notes marks a major upgrade to what was already the world’s most comprehensive online paper money database.
“This upgrade is the latest example of how PMG is leveraging technology to provide the best possible services to the paper money collecting community,” PMG Chairman Mark Salzberg said. “These images greatly expand the information available to collectors, dealers and researchers as well as provide greater protection and transparency to the hobby.”
For the last several years, PMG has taken images of notes after encapsulation as part of its normal grading process for no additional fee. Verify PMG Certification allows anyone to view these images for free and zoom in to see even small details on a note. PMG encourages a prospective buyer of a PMG-certified note to check it in Verify PMG Certification first.
Verify PMG Certification is optimized for all devices, including smartphones, tablets and desktops. It is also available in multiple languages, including English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and German. To access Verify PMG Certification, visit their website.
