December 10, 2015 – While today most people know Transylvania because of Count Dracula, the events taking place in this region were argued heatedly by European intellectuals around 1600. That was the region where the empire of the Habsburgs and the Ottomans fought against each other. Some princes in Transylvania managed to take advantage of that conflict to assert free exercise of religion in their territories.
