Since 1891, the World’s Fair of Money has only been cancelled twice. Now the organizers had to suspend the August 2020 show due to COVID-19 guidelines of the authorities. Read the consequences for those who wanted to attend.

During what would have been the American Numismatic Association’s Summer Seminar the association will offer free virtual courses through its new ANA eLearning Academy. The courses are open to both ANA members and non-members.

The American Numismatic Association had to adapt to the current situation, too. Not only did they have to cancel their 2020 Summer Seminar, as a result of the suspension of several programs they also had to eliminate several staff positions.

After 38 years at the American Numismatic Association, The Numismatist Editor-in-Chief Barbara Gregory retired in April. She passed the editorial responsibilities to current ANA Managing Editor Caleb Noel.

The American Numismatic Association is accepting proposals for the 2020 Maynard Sundman Littleton Coin Company Lecture Series. This year’s subject is: “Women in Numismatics”. Presentations will be given at the Pittsburgh World’s Fair of Money®.

The ANA and NGC have partnered to launch the ANA Registry later this year. It will allow both NGC- and PCGS-certified U.S. coins to be registered and displayed, recognizing that most U.S. coin collectors have certified coins from both services.

During the Florida United Numismatists 65th annual convention, American Numismatic Association Executive Director Kim Kiick was recognized as a Numismatic Ambassador honoring what she has given to the numismatic community over many years.

The American Numismatic Association offers scholarships for their summer seminar 2020 in Colorado Springs. The seminar offers students an array of week-long courses designed for discovery or continued study. Read here if you should apply!
