August 15, 2013 – On July 29, 2013 Stack’s Bowers Galleries announced that John Konop, a recognized financial industry executive and experienced U.S. and world coin collector, has joined the company as vice president, operating out of the company’s Irvine, Calif., headquarters.
“I am thrilled to welcome John to our team,” said Brian Kendrella, president of Stack’s Bowers Galleries. “Over the last several years, I have had the pleasure of knowing John as an important client and astute collector. John’s advanced numismatic background and foundation as a true collector, combined with his service background and professional success, makes him the ideal candidate to develop and expand upon the services offered to our elite clientele.”
Prior to joining Stack’s Bowers Galleries, Mr. Konop enjoyed a successful and decorated career in the financial services industry, having worked as managing director at Morgan Stanley/Smith Barney and its predecessor firms for nearly 30 years, developing the high net worth market in Southern California. He has also been recognized as one of the Top 100 managers in the U.S. for all financial service firms three years in a row (2007-2009).
“As a financial industry executive and longtime client to a number of leading numismatic firms, I understand the value in providing a client experience that is second to none. I look forward to working with Brian and the Stack’s Bowers Galleries team to expand our existing client services and programs to ensure an unsurpassed level of personal service to collectors, dealers and investors,” said Konop.
