Spanish Copper Collection and Gold at Cayón
The Spanish copper collection, sold at Cayón’s 68th E-auction (September 30, 2020) was a great success. Only 2 lots stayed unsold. The increment was almost 300% from the starting prices.
Some highlights:
- The Manila’s octavo 1829 (lot 8384) was sold for 9,440 EUR (Starting price: 275 EUR).
- The rare 8 maravedis 1837, Carlos V (lot 8577) was sold for a record of 6,844 EUR (Starting price: 3.500 EUR).
- The Manila’s cuarto 1824 (lot 8382) was sold for 6,136 EUR (Starting price: 190 EUR).
Cayón’s special gold E-auction 69 (October 7th, 2020) was a terrific sale. All lots were sold, but one.
Highlights:
- The rare 8 escudos Guadalajara 1813 (lot 8902) was finally sold for 16,520 EUR (Starting price: 9,000 EUR).
- An 8 escudos 1751 Santiago, Fernando VI (lot 8607) was sold for 4,130 EUR.
- Another 8 escudos, 1810 Santiago, Fernando VI (lot 8631) was sold for 3,894 EUR.
- The Segovia escudo 1607 (lot 8603) was sold for 1,917.5 EUR.
