November 17, 2016 – The latest creation by Coin Invest Trust for the island nation Palau really is a gift to impress the grandchildren. After all, the skull has become an indispensable requisite in contemporary youth literature. Harry Potter, Lockwood & Co., you name it: Hardly any fantasy novel published in recent years has done without a skull.

The obverse shows the official coat of arms of the issuing nation Palau below an outrigger canoe with canoeist. Further, the name of the issuing nation and the nominal value, completed by fine content and year of issue in the silver edition.
The skull-shaped reverse is worked three-dimensionally in the silver edition.

Thanks to smartminting© technology the silver edition is reminiscent of a palm stone with an incredibly high relief. That makes the collector’s item almost too precious to be hidden away in a coin cabinet. It belongs in the pockets of young people to introduce them to collecting. And it sends the message that coins can look anything but nice and dull.
The coins were minted by B. H. Mayer’s Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH. Collectors can purchase the issues through specialty dealers.
