October 20, 2016 – At the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge the Sixth International Symposium in Early Medieval Coinage will be held from 28th-29th October 2016. The common theme is ‘North v South’.
All are welcome, including students at all stages with an interest in early medieval history or archaeology. Highlights will include a keynote by Robert Turner, former Queen’s Remembrancer, John Naylor (Ashmolean Museum) speaking on the Watlington hoard, talks from Simon Coupland and Rory Naismith, and exciting new discoveries on the York gold shilling to be presented for the first time. Meet the leading experts in early medieval numismatics and hear about their latest findings at this convivial, interdisciplinary symposium.
