November 13, 2012 – In September the National Bank of Sweden announced that newly designed coins will be introduced in 2016. Swedish sculptor Ernst Nordin won the design competition with his design ‘sun, wind, and water.’
The new set of coins will consist of 1-, 2-, and 5-krona coins, so a 2-kron coin is going to be part of Sweden’s coins again for the first time since 1971 when its production ceased.
