New Auction House founded in Berne, Switzerland

November 24, 2011 – The newly founded Auctiones Ltd. will launch its first two-week internet-auction on the 4th of December 2011 (closing date December 18). Based in Berne, the capital of Switzerland, the company is run by the numismatists Dr. Markus Beyeler, Lars Rutten and Simon Wieland and will conduct a two-week eAuction each month at its website. The focus of the sales is on Ancient Coins as well as on medieval and modern European issues, but the offerings also include other collecting areas. All coins offered by Auctiones are professionally photographed and described and can be viewed in the center of Berne by appointment.

Online bidding
For online bidding please register at the firm’s website. Your bidding account will be unlocked within 24 hours, after which you can bid on any lot during the regular auction duration from the 1st to 3rd Sunday each month. The first lot number ends at 7 pm Swiss time on the closing date, followed by the subsequent lots every 30 seconds. The highest bidder at the closing time wins the lot.

Auction preview: all auctions include a great variety of coins, but they usually feature some special fields: eAuction #1, December 4 to 18, 2011 (coins from the BCD collection / Bündner coins from the collection Gottlieb Wüthrich); eAuction #2, January 1 to 15, 2012 (collection of Roman Imperial coins of Caracalla / Italian coins); eAuction #3 February 5 to 19, 2012 (further selections from the BCD collection / Swiss Talers).
