November 10, 2016 – Mint of Finland and the Central Bank of Bolivia have reached a two year agreement for the manufacturing of Bolivia’s 5 denomination circulation coins. The contract concerns the production and delivery of 88 million pieces, and the deliveries will occur in 2017 and 2018. The Central Bank of Bolivia is a new customer to Mint of Finland.
This is how the current 5 bolivianos coins look like, issued in 2012. In 2017 and 2018 Mint of Finland will produce 88 million pieces of this denomination for the Central Bank of Bolivia.
CEO Jonne Hankimaa comments on the significance of the agreement: “This deal is important for us. We have further strengthened our position in South America and we are very happy about this new customer.”
