October 5, 2017 – Thieves have stolen all the coins and banknotes that Canadian coin dealer Joseph Liorio of J and M Coin & Jewellery Ltd. in Vancouver had brought with him for the Toronto Expo. The damage runs in the million-dollar range.

On September 26, 2017 at around 1 p.m. local time, the coin dealer entered the hotel at Mississauga, Ontario to check in. With the numismatic material still inside, the car parked in front of the building. When Liorio returned a few minutes later, the two boxes containing coins and banknotes, including select rarities, were missing. The total value is said to exceed 1 million dollars.
