Auction house Leu Numismatik founds Leu Numismatik USA Inc. as a subsidiary because the large US market has always been of exceptional importance to Leu. In the two floor and five web auctions held in 2022 so far, a grand total of 3,169 lots, or 25.3% of all lots sold, went to customers residing in the United States. Thus, the U.S. forms their most significant market by far, even ranking ahead of Switzerland (18.4%) and Germany (12.7%).
Through Leu’s expansion into the United States and a permanent presence of the team there, the auction house aims to be even closer to the U.S. customers, and to offer new business opportunities. In particular, the sale of coins by collectors located in the U.S. through Leu Numismatik USA will be made easier. From 2023 onwards, Leu will be able to conveniently accept consignments both at the most important coin shows in the US (see the list below) and also through pick-ups from or appointments at homes or offices. The export of coins from the U.S. and the import into Switzerland will be handled by the staff at no cost and hassle to customers.
Leu Numismatik USA, Inc.’s first introduction at a U.S. fair is going to be at the 51st New York International Numismatic Convention from 13-15 January 2023. On this occasion, Leu will also present their first ever Fixed Price List with an impressive selection of exquisite coins. The CEO Yves Gunzenreiner, the Managing Numismatist Lars Rutten, and Numismatist Dr. Piotr Tomczyk will be present at the NYINC.
