International Coin Design Competition 2012

May 24, 2012 – The Japan Mint will hold the International Coin Design Competition(ICDC) 2012 with the objective of encouraging creativity and enhancing the artistry of coin designs. While the student section is open only to students born on or after August 31, 1982 the general section is open to anyone able to submit a pair of plaster models at the final stage. Prizes range from 50,000 to 500,000 yen (ca. US$627 to 6.270).
The entry period of the designs is going to open on June 1, 2012.
