Giulio Bernardi receives Samir Shamma Award

July 26, 2012 – The Royal Numismatic Society gives the Samir Shamma Award 2012 to Giulio Bernardi acknowledging thus the numismatist’s work ‘Arabic gold coins corpus I’. This is the first volume of the University of Trieste series Polymnia. The prestigious award is given ‘every two years for the book or article(s) published, normally and preferably in English, during the previous three years which in the view of the Council is most useful to students of Islamic numismatics,’ as described by the Society.
Additionally the book was also second in the choice of the International Association of Professional Numismatists for 2011.
