June 15, 2017 – San Marino has issued a 5 euro silver collector coin in proof dedicated to the 17th edition of the “Games of the Small States of Europe San Marino 2017”.
San Marino / 5 euros / .925 silver / 18g / 32mm / Design: Antonella Napolione (obverse), Erik Spiekermann (reverse) / Mintage: 3,400.
The reverse of the coin features, in the middle, the value of 5 euros, surrounded by five athletes performing the following sports: cycling, volleyball, shooting, swimming and athletics.
The 17th edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe, a sporting event for European countries with a population less than one million inhabitants, was hold in San Marino from 29 May to 3 June 2017. The participating countries were: San Marino, Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco and Montenegro.
