CoinsWeekly – MünzenWoche – Gekkancoins: CoinsWeekly is now available in a third language: Japanese. The new language version of our website is online. After extensive preparations, we finally sent out our first Japanese newsletter last week. From now on, it will be published once a month. Unlike it’s the case with CoinsWeekly, new content will be published throughout the month on the Japanese website. The newsletter will then bundle the news that were published in the weeks before. Thus, it’s certainly worth it to visit the website regularly!

We don’t simply offer translations of the same content to our Japanese readers, they will get articles specially tailored to them. As with the English version of CoinsWeekly, you will find various categories of news that offer exciting material for our diverse readership – be it collectors, scholars, dealers, mint employees or distributors. In addition to news, we report on the numismatic market by means of auction previews and reviews. Moreover – in cooperation with our friends from Greysheet in the USA – we are happy to present their regular column on the latest activities across the coin market in Japanese language. If you want to get an overview of the upcoming auctions, our newsletter also contains a list of all auction dates that can be found on the website of our sponsor Sixbid.

In the “Basics” category, we publish articles on the fundamentals of numismatics. They are intended to help beginners as they find their way through our numismatic world. In this section, we also collaborate with friends and colleagues – with Simon Bytheway for example. The renowned expert in Asian numismatics and economic history will regularly contribute short articles on Japanese monetary history and other exciting topics from Tokyo.

Thank You!

We admit it: it’s an adventure to work in a language that is so different from ours. Therefore, we are all the more excited to get to know the Japanese coin world much better in the future. We are encouraged by the fact that many of our long-standing partners in the coin trade have shown that they trust us. Even before the first newsletter was sent out, they promised to support this project. As sponsors, supporters, logo customers and by placing advertising banners on our website, they enable us to realize this project. There is our sponsor Sixbid, for example, who kindly took on the task of sending our first newsletter to Japan. Auction house Künker has also generously stepped in as a sponsor. Heritage, Gadoury and NGC also support us, as does Shanna Schmidt. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them all!

Do you know Japanese coin enthusiast? Please tell them about our new website! The first newsletter already met with great interest. We are looking forward to becoming part of the Japanese coin world!
