December 7, 2009 – In 2009 the Museum August Kestner presented an exhibit on the coins of Augustus. Responsible for this presentation was the director of the Collection of Coins and Medals, Simone Vogt, who also wrote the catalogue on the coinage of Augustus on display in ‘her’ cabinet.
After a short overview of the material – for which there is also a translation into English by the way – a catalogue containing all 207 objects follow. Each object is illustrated with greatly enlarged images of the most prominent pieces. Identification follows RIC and BN, sometimes RPC.
