ICTA names task force steering committee
The Industry Council for Tangible Assets has named an 11-member Steering Committee and has formed eight Work Groups to begin the work of its Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force. Its mission is to mobilize law enforcement resources to protect the integrity of U.S. and world coinage.
Danish coins minted first time outside Denmark
At Mint of Finland, the minting of Danish coins has begun. The issues to be produced include Danish 20 krone coins and silver collector coins in honor of the royal 50th wedding anniversary.

An audit at the Royal Coin Cabinet in Stockholm showed that a transferred 2.6 million euros worth of objects are missing. Now a former employee has to answer for theft.
Piano tuner finds gold treasure
A piano tuner in Shropshire found his work to be unexpectedly exciting. In December of 2016 he discovered 633 sovereigns and 280 half sovereigns struck between 1847 and 1915 in a piano. The owner could not be found.
