The Archaeological Museum Ioannina hosts at present an exhibition on the Macedonian king bearing the title Alexander the Great. From Macedonia to the End of the World. Approximately 250 coins from the Alpha Bank collection are presented there. Gold, silver and bronze coins of the Chalcidian cities, the Macedonian kings – before and after Alexander – and later imitations from Ancient times can be seen there.
In addition, there will be archaeological highlights like the marble head of Alexander from the museum in Olympia and Macedonian weapons – helmet, sarissa and shield.
Until the end of October, the exhibition organized by Katerini Liampi, Dimitra Tsangari (Alpha Bank) and Konstantinos Zachos (director of the Archaeological Museum of Ioannina) will be staged.
