January 10, 2018 – This year, the World Money Fair is offering additional events around the topic of grading. There will be three workshops sponsored by NGC as well as a panel discussion.
NCG Grading Finalizer David J. Camire will conduct coin grading workshops at the World Money Fair in Berlin on February 2 and 3, 2019. Hone your grading skills at this interactive workshop where participants will learn how to professionally evaluate coins for authenticity and grade. Mr. Camire will also talk about the importance of encapsulation and explain professional conservation from Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS). Real coin examples will be used for demonstration purposes. This workshop is geared toward collectors and dealers, as well as other professionals of the coin industry.
This workshop will be offered at the following times: 2.30 p.m. Saturday, February 2; 4 p.m. Saturday, February 2; and 11 a.m. Sunday, February 3. There is no fee to attend this workshop, but seating is limited to 15 people per session.
This event is fully sponsored by NGC and is free of charge. For administrative reasons, we kindly ask you to register for this event. Registration is open until January 15, 2019.
Furthermore, the World Money Fair will host a panel discussion about grading on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 1 p.m. The following experts have confirmed their participation: Christoph Raab, president of the Verband der deutschen Münzenhändler [Association of German Coin Dealers]; Arne Kirsch, president of the International Association of Professional Numismatists and sworn expert; Sam Spiegel, Director of International Numismatics at Heritage Auctions, Dallas; and Michael Chou, founder and owner of Champion Auction, Hongkong. The discussion will be led by Ursula Kampmann.
It will be held in both German and English, each speech followed by a short summary in the respective other language.
