November 24, 2016 – Every month, an auction of exclusive ancient art is held at Catawiki. What’s special about it is the fact that only members of the International Association of Dealers in Ancient Art (IADAA) offer objects there. For the buyer, this means full guarantee in terms of authenticity and provenance. These auctions on Catawiki have been running since October 2016. Each auction is like a digital extension of the well-known Ancient Art Fair BAAF. It follows the same concept: privately organized, with only IADAA members accepted as sellers. For the buyer, this means that everybody who places a bid at Exclusive Ancient Art Auction enjoys all the guarantees granted by members of IADAA.
The following dealers in ancient art are offering objects for purchase at Exclusive Ancient Art Auction:
- Galerie Akanthos, Belgium
- Archaea Ancient Art, Netherlands
- Dr. Robert Bigler, Asian and Egyptian Art, Switzerland
- Galerie Cybèle, France
- Galerie Eberwein, France
- Galerie Jürgen Haering, Germany
- Galerie Günter Puhze, Germany
Select works of ancient art
Every second Sunday of the month, at 20.00 CET, the Exclusive Ancient Art Auction comprising select works of ancient art comes to an end. Works on offer can be viewed on the internet, and bids placed, roughly 9 days prior to the auction. The items for sale span all ages from Prehistoric Times to the Migration Period. Once a month, those interested in Egypt, the Near East and Classical Greece and Rome can find a rich selection of works of art that will also satisfy the experienced collector.
The full guarantee of IADAA Members
Members of IADAA guarantee the authenticity of every object they sell. Furthermore, every object with a value exceeding 5,000 euros has been checked with the Art Loss Register. The IADAA dealers carry out due diligence to ascertain the provenance of the objects they offer, in accordance with legal regulations and conduct further checks to ensure buyers enjoy maximum security.
