Roma Numismatics’ Auction XIX a Success Despite Circumstances

The team of Roma Numismatics would like to express their sincere thanks to all of their wonderful and valued bidders who helped to make Roma Numismatics Ltd.’s Auction XIX a success, especially in unique circumstances. 1,083 lots went under the hammer, resulting in total sales across the two days of £3,362,830 (excluding buyers’ premiums) being achieved on behalf of the consignors, with 97.4% of all lots sold.

Winning Bidder Invoices

Some Notable Results

  • Lot 291 – An impressive Syracuse tetradrachm of the Demareteion series sold for £75,000.
  • Lot 357 – An extremely rare and high grade stater from Phaistos in Crete sold for £60,000.
  • Lot 914 – A Florian aureus, one of only two known, sold for £90,000.

  • Lot 123 – A very rare bronze from Pantikapaion from the William Stancomb collection sold for £1,300 from a starting price of £30.
  • Lot 696 – An extremely rare Republican denarius of C. Vibius C. f. Pansa sold for £5,000 from a starting price of £300.
  • Lot 903 – A Postumus antoninianus in mint state condition, sold for £8,000 from a starting price of £240.

Any lots that did not already sell in the auction are available to purchase at fixed prices on the recently created shop page on our website, corresponding to the opening price plus buyer’s premium and VAT.
