[bsa_pro_ad_space id=4]

August 24, 2017 – The eighth Austrian Numismatic Day is organised by the Landesmuseum Rudolfinum in cooperation with the Department of Numismatics and Monetary History at the University of Vienna, the Division Documenta Antiqua of the Institute for the Study of Ancient Culture of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the Coin Collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and Klagenfurt, the Capital of Carinthia.

On the occasion of the 500-year-anniversary of the donation of Klagenfurt to the Carinthian Estates by Emperor Maximilian I, the conference is taking place on Thursday, the 17th and Friday, the 18th of May 2018, prospectively on the premises of the Landhaus in Klagenfurt.

The motto of the Numismatic Day is “Collections and Collectors”. Proposals for papers will be accepted from now. The topics of these papers do not have to be strictly linked to the motto of the Numismatic Day. Participants are kindly asked to add an abstract on the content of the intended lecture of approximately 200 words to their registration. The duration of the lecture should not exceed 20 minutes in order to make a discussion of approximately 10 minutes possible.

Due to a tight schedule, set by the program committee, perhaps not all registrations can be taken into consideration.

Proposals for a paper (including an abstract) are requested by e-mail or by mail under the subject heading “Numismatikertag” until 19th January 2018 to: Landesmuseum für Kärnten, Mag. Martin Stermitz, Museumgasse 2, 9021 Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.
