November 16, 2017 – Every year since 1982, the International Association of Professional Numismatists (I.A.P.N./A.I.N.P.) has awarded a Literary Prize of Honor to reward a book on Numismatics. The prize-giving ceremony for this year’s award took place at the COINEX numismatic fair in September 2017. Many merchants, collectors and numismatic enthusiasts attended. The prize was awarded by the President of the I.A.P.N., Arne Kirsch, Executive Director Jean-Luc Van der Schueren in the presence of other members of the association and the author.

The I.A.P.N. has thus honored Andreas Pangerl for his book ‘500 Years of Roman Coin Portraits / 500 Jahre römische Münzbildnisse.’ Staatliche Münzsammlung München, Munich 2017. Hardcover. ISBN: 978-3-922840-36-7. 59 euros plus shipping.
The book prize of I.A.P.N. honors numismatic authors for what the organization considers “the best numismatic publication of the year”. The first place includes a medal, a diploma and a monetary reward.
