Peus Opens New Year With E-Auction 10

With the 10th e-auction, Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. celebrates another anniversary in their 150th year of its existence. There is a particularly wide range of ancient coins for auction. The auction begins January 10th 2020 at 11 am (CET). 980 lots are offered.

Lot 44: Roman Republic. Aes Grave, 216, Sicily. Rare Very Fine. From the Collection of a “Frankfurter Römerfreund”. Starting bid: 1,750 euros.

These include a good 200 coins from the Roman Republic, most of which come from the “Frankfurter Römerfreund” collection of which parts had already been offered in auction 425. The many rare mint marks offer another possibility to complete your own republic collection.

Lot 282: Imperial Coinage. Claudius für Agrippina I. Sesterz 42/43, Rome, commemorating the emperor’s sister-in-law. Very Fine. From a North German private collection. Starting bid: 300 euros.

This is followed by a section of almost 400 Roman imperial coins from a private collection in northern Germany, often with older auction provenances. The ancient section closes with an offer of around 40 lots of partly high quality pieces.

Lot 722: Kingdom Denmark. Friedrich V. Kurant-Dukat worth 12 Mark 1761, Copenhagen. Almost Extremely Fine. Starting bid: 450 euros.

After a short sequence of 23 pieces from the Islamic world, some small series of coins from Schleswig-Holstein, Denmark, Italy-Naples and Swedish copper coins are to be emphasized.

Lot 895: Duchy Braunschweig-Lüneburg. Wilhelm. 20 Mark 1875. Very fine / Extremely Fine. Starting bid: 1,250 euros.

E-Auction 10 closes late Saturday afternoon with German imperial coins, some of which are in very good condition.
