Money in caricature is a great topic – there’s a reason we publish a new cartoon by our wonderful Claire every week! The Austrian National Bank has opened an exhibition devoted to the subject in its Money Museum, and now there’s a catalogue to go with it.

In 1970, Germany minted its Olympic coins. This was the first time that sports were used as a topic of German coins. It was an innovation at the time. Since then, sports have not only become numismatically presentable but bestsellers. After all, the world has changed over the course of almost 50 years.

Since the High Middle Ages, it has been one of the most important economic areas of Europe: the region of Lake Constance. A new catalogue presents this region’s minting authorities and their coins. Ursula Kampmann took a look at it.
